It is really sad to see that only certian people get snapped every year at the music festivals? As a keen audience member who follow the Brass webpage it is really a concern, slight hint of nepotism coming forward strongly.

Thanks for another great festival 2013, BBSA!! We have indeed added positively to the Memory of 8th September. May it no longer be memories of sadness alone, but also of joyfulness & praises! The tranquility of Genadendal & the outdoor brass music truly encompassed the mixture of emotions experienced on Sunday (8 September 2013) in remembering our fellow BBSA members who left this Life for Eternity, 10 years ago, on 8 September 2003. Thank you Rone, Geoff, Mark, Randal, Jacques, Gain, Jerome & Albert ... you'll always be remembered - our Bra's in Heaven. With lotsa love & heartfelt longing, F

Keep on playing your instruments to the glory of God. The sounds you produce enable us to get a foretaste of the trumpets of the Lord.

Hi to everyone who is still, as well as those like me who was a member of the Moravian Brass Band(s) over the years. I had my musical roots established during the 70's in Wittewater under Meastro Gottlieb Scholtz (passed away 2010 - God Bless his soul), and consequently under his protégé Liepie (also Gotlieb). My thanks and appreciation to them and the BBSA for their input in my life. It is with sadness that I learned from the deaths of BBSA members on their way from Namibia in 2003. One of the deceased, Jerome Engel and myself started out in the mid 70's with our first tour to Port Elizabeth. My condolences to all the families concerned. I hope to hear from some of the members who still remembers me. Shalom

What a wonderful experience in September in the Feathermarket Hall - the first EBBASA Brass Band Festival! Coming from Gauteng, I was not aware how brass music is entrenched in the Cape. Warm Greetings - Karl, ELCSA N-T, Kempton Park Brass Band

Hi fellow music lovers, especially those involved with, currently and from the past, Moravian Brass. I salute you as ambassadors of Christ and our Church. You are doing exceptional work that I can assure you do not go unnoticed. Often we are faced with challenges and this poses questions in our minds as to how appreciative people are of the efforts that we put in to our various causes. Be assured that when these questions arise, that you are not alone and it is not only happening now, but did in the past and will still in the future to come. Our Faith, however, needs to carry us through all those troubled times. God Bless!

Hi all, please allow me to share with you all the passing of a dear member of the BBSA, Gerald Barlow who has left us to join the choirs above, he will be sadly missed by us all in the bbsa family. He was the leader of the Ebenhaeser Band in Port Elizabeth and also the repairman to our instruments, what a great leader. Our deepest condolences to Zareena and the Barlow family, he will be missed sadly.
