After two very short days in WinsenAller it was time to leave again. After packing our busses we were invited into the church by one of the local pastors. There she held morning devotions with Ernie leading the hymn singing on flute. We thereafter took a group photo in front of the pastonage before finally saying goodbye to our hosts. This was the first visit by a BBSA group to WinsenAller and its amazing how quickly bonds of friendship were formed. We then set off on a short drive to Hildesheim. We were received at St Matthäus Church where we had soup for lunch before being introduced to our hosts. We went to our homes to refresh before meeting again to be taken on a guided tour of Hildesheim by Pastor Harms. This included the churches of St Andreas and St Michaels. These churches are both very old with St Michaels Church celebrating its 1000th anniversary this year. We were also shown a rose bush which is reputed to be more than a 1000 years old. We had supper at St Michaels before attending a concert at 8pm. In between some of our members were able to do some shopping. By now it had become clear that we would not be visiting Hannover, as many had wished. The concert was performed by professional church brass musicians with a jazz pianist and percussionist as guests. The result was a fusion of church music with jazz elements, which was well received by a very large audience. Thereafter our hosts collected us and we then went home.
